Leadership Skills

What exactly do we mean by Leadership Skills?

We help students find clarity in where they want to go and to develop the confidence to get themselves there. We approach leadership from three different angles, leadership of self, leadership of others and leadership of systems/big picture thinking.

Leadership of Self

  • Where do I want to go?
  • What do I really want?
  • Who am I and who do I want to become?
  • What are my strengths?
  • Which areas do I need to develop?
  • Can I self regulate in times of high pressure?
  • Do I have biases in my thinking and how do I manage them?
  • Can I learn to be more empathetic?
  • How can I ensure what I say is heard?
  • How do I express my ideas and feelings to different people in my life?
  • Do my oral presentation skills support my academic and career related goals?
  • How does setting a boundary make me feel?
  • What control do I have over my time?

Leadership of Others

  • What steps do I need to take to ensure all my teams are functioning as well as they can?

  • What actions can I take to promote psychological safety in my teams?
  • How trustworthy am I?
  • Can I support others to find the solution to their problems?
  • What communication skills do I need to keep in mind when working with others in a team?
  • How do I feel about conflict?
  • How can I include healthy conflict as a part of my life to encourage growth and improve relationships?
  • How can I get others to listen to me when I don’t have authority?
  • What tools do I have to introduce new perspectives?

Leadership of Systems/ Big picture

  • How can I use my voice for good?
  • What power do I have in this situation?
  • How can I uphold my values and speak up for what I believe in?
  • What change do I want to see?
  • How can I make this happen?
  • What diversity do I have around me?
  • How can I use these different strengths, backgrounds and abilities to make a difference?
